My name is John, and I am a Potato Bug farmer. The bugs are my pets and they live out in the garden in the back yard. I was originally a vegetable gardener with vasts amounts of carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and even potatoes. One day I went outside to tend to my garden and I noticed that many of my vegetables had bites taken out of them. It wasn't a big deal at the time, it was only a few vegetables that were affected. Also, I couldn't find what was taking bites out of my vegetables. So I watered the vegetables, I cultivated the ground, and I picked the ripened produce. After about a week of noticing that more and more vegetables were being eaten, I started noticing small bugs all around my garden. They were small, gray, and they had 6 legs. I also noticed that they really enjoyed eating my potatoes! At first, I tried to get rid of the bugs with pesticides, but that didn't work. I also tried drowning them out of my garden, but that also didn't work. I also offered them money, but that too did not work. It occurred to me that there was a chance that these bugs weren't going to leave. So after a month of the potato bugs arriving in my garden, they had ate all of my vegetables, and I realized that they weren't going to leave.
So all of my vegetables are gone, and the only thing left in my garden are potato bugs. So instead of trying to regrow my vegetables, I've decided to harvest potato bugs. There really isn't any good reason to keep potato bugs as pets, and I sometimes ask myself why I do it. I guess its because its been a year since they showed up in my garden, and I don't feel like fighting with them. So you may call me crazy, but me and my potato bugs will live happily ever after!
