There hasn't been any sign of the dragons that are rumored to be coming in from the east. I still am not taking any chances though. I have sent Patrick the messenger to Silverton, a neighboring village about 20 miles west of our village of McCready. I told him to find my brother and have him and his expecting wife come stay with me until the dragons come, or change course. My brother is also an experienced dragon slayer, so it is better if we worked together.
We've had some villagers receive letters from loved ones saying there homes have been destroyed, and many have been killed. I'm not sure why these dragons won't stop their destruction and death. All we can do is fight against them. It is a very tense time for all of us in McCready.
All I do is sharpen my sword and polish my shield. My armor is made from dragon scales from previous kills that I have done. The armor is as strong as steel. I'm more than ready for any kind of attack.
I've done this for many years, and I'm more nervous now than I've been since I started. Its because my son is almost 4 months old, and my wife is the greatest in the village. The fact that something could happen to them scares me. I could never love anything more than I love them. They are the reason why I wake up everyday. My wife is readying our supper. We will pray for our safety, and ask for God to watch over us. Tomorrow is Sunday, the Lords day. With the inevitable danger to our village, you can be sure there will be many praying for safety at church tomorrow. God's the only one that can keep us strong and safe through these desperate times. Tomorrow will be a day to spend with my family and my Lord before the village encounters any dragons. I just hope my brother gets to the village before the dragons do.
