I walked through the castle walls expecting nothing wrong. I just came back from a feast that celebrated a year of matrimony to my wife. A young servant girl came up to me and welcomed me home and warned me not to go upstairs. A wounded man lying on the castle floor said that my brother and my brother in law were waiting for me upstairs. They were preparing for my demise.
I looked at my wife, and she said nothing. She just looked at me and nodded. I knew that I was going to have to face my brother and my brother in law in battle. The young servant girl handed me a bow wrapped in cloth. She also handed me a quiver with 20 arrows. I nervously began to walk up the stairs.
My wife and the little servant girl stopped me and told me to wait until they had gone upstairs and checked out the situation. They both knew that my brother and brother in law would never wound a woman. After they had cleared the stairs, I cautiously walked up to meet my brother and brother in law.
Within seconds of me getting to the top of the steps, the battle began. Arrows began to fly right past my head. They were coming from the Kings kitchen and the Royal bedroom. I was taking cover everywhere I could. My brother in law flipped the knight's table and continued to shoot arrows. My brother turned over book shelves in the Kings library, and took cover there. The whole castle became a battle ground.
The battle lasted for a whole day. Every time we shot arrows at each other, we would use them to shoot back at each other. The battle ended when I shot a fatal arrow into my brothers chest. My brother in law surrendered. He was then seized and placed in the dungeon for the rest of his life. Me and my wife then held a festival where the whole village was invited to celebrate my victory.
And we lived happily ever after, or so we thought............
