When a baby is coming in 7 weeks, its probably time to get prepared for the time of delivery. Of course, my wife is already a step ahead. I guess if you're having the baby, you know better than your husband of what you should do.
About 2 weeks ago, my wife told me that we were going to lamaze classes. I was sad because I was going to miss reruns of House and how was I ever going to beat my high score on Frisbee Golf on Wii Resort. With me being a great husband, I said that was great, and then proceeded to ask what she wanted for dinner. I think we ate some kind of chicken, or was it pasta, I'm not real sure, but anyways.
I was going to be her coach throughout the class. I bought a whistle, a polo shirt, a baseball hat, and some knee high socks. I also grew a mustache. If I was going to be her coach, I had to look like a coach. Little did I know, none of that was necessary, except the mustache, everyone needs a mustache!
So we had our first class tonight. We actually learned some important stuff about was to expected before and during labor. We also learned some good breathing techniques that not only helps with the baby, but in my opinion, they also could help when you have to take a good poop. We then watched a baby being born, which wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, I think I actually threw up a little Chic-Fil-A. Lastly, we all sat in a circle and practiced some breathing. I give my wife an 'A' for breathing, it was like she had been doing it since she was born!
So all in all, it was a good experience. I learned enough that if my wife didn't want to have the baby, then I could do it. On second thought, my wife can have the baby; that delivery video looked too painful for me. I guess I'll just have my whistle and knee socks ready to take on the tough job of being the best coach, ever. I think that job will suit me just fine!
